Left luggage at the airport
There is a paid left-luggage service in the terminals, charged per piece. It exists for exactly two situations, and both are common here.
- A late flight after checkout. Your hotel checks you out at noon and you fly at nine. Rather than sit in a lobby, you can drop the bags and go.
- A long layover you want to leave the airport for. Cancun city is twenty minutes away; carrying two suitcases there is not.

The per-bag rate comes from operator listings rather than a published tariff. Treat it as an order of magnitude. Ask at the counter for the exact price for your number of bags and hours before you leave them.
Before you pay for storage
Two alternatives are free and frequently better:
- Your hotel will almost always hold your bags after checkout, at no charge, and often until late in the evening. Ask at reception rather than assuming.
- A round-trip transfer can collect you later, so the bags stay with you rather than in a locker. If your flight is at nine, being collected at six beats storing bags from noon.
What you cannot leave
- Anything you could not take through security in the first place.
- Valuables, documents, medication and electronics — not because they are forbidden, but because you should keep them with you.
- Perishable food, for obvious reasons.
If you are storing bags because your flight is much later, keep your passport, medication and one change of clothes out.
