Jetway is a Mexican company that started operations in August 2021. The company stands out for its low-cost ferry services to Isla Mujeres, catering mainly to workers and locals.

• Vessels: 3 Waterjet boats, 2 with a capacity for 77 people and the third for 280 people.

• Services: Restrooms, beverages, and snacks.

• Pets: Pets may be transported in a designated area. Service animals are allowed on board.

• Discounts: Locals, INAPAM, inhabitants of Isla Mujeres.

• Schedule: Monday to Sunday from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

• Departure port from Cancun: Api Maritime Terminal in Puerto Juarez.

• Port of departure from Isla Mujeres: Isla Mujeres Maritime Terminal, Pier 1.

ULTRAMAR FERRY

Ultramar is the most popular ferry company in Quintana Roo. With more than 30 years of experience in maritime transit, it has departure terminals on different routes in different parts of Cancun.

• Vessels: 14 boats with panoramic views with capacities of 800, 550, 300, 250, and 150 people. The boats have open-air and heated decks.

• Services: Restrooms, sale of drinks and snacks, live music, flight attendant service, TV screens, First Class and Kids Zone, and cargo service to transport cars and oversized luggage.

• Pets: The boat accepts pets without extra charges. The only requirement is to accompany your pet in a designated area (usually the upper part) and always carry a leash or cage if required.

• Discounts: Quintanarroenses, locals, INAPAM, inhabitants of Isla Mujeres.

• Schedule: Monday to Sunday from 5:30 AM to 12:00 AM (hours vary by port).

• Car Rental: If you rent a car, we recommend using Maps on your phone and following the assigned route. Remember that only the Ultramar terminal has parking, and this has an additional cost.

• Public Transportation: Perfect for those looking to save money or have a more local experience. There are two ways to get to Puerto Juarez by public transportation:

  • Route 1 Rehoyada: These run from start to finish on Boulevard Kukulcan in the Cancun Hotel Zone. Make sure the bus says R1 Rehoyada. The bus can be taken at any stop in the Hotel Zone, Avenida Tulum, or at the Cruise.

  • Van Punta Sam/ Puerto Juarez: The vans can be taken at the Cruise, on Av. Portillo. They do not have a number, but Punta Sam, Puerto Juarez, or All Ritmo (hotel) will be written on the panoramic. Some vans have images of Ultramar and have Isla Mujeres written on them.

HOW TO GET TO THE ISLA MUJERES BY XCARET PIER?

The Embarcadero Isla Mujeres by Xcaret is located 4.5 km from the Cancun Hotel Zone.

• Location of Embarcadero Isla Mujeres by Xcaret: Blvd. Kukulcan 4, Kukulcan Boulevard, Hotel Zone, 77500 Cancun, Q.R.

To get there, you can use the following transportation alternatives:

• Taxi Cancun: You can take a taxi and ask to be taken directly to the Xcaret Pier. For reference, you can mention the Scenic Tower or the Jolly Roger ship pier. The price will depend on the distance traveled.

• Transportation Apps (Didi or Orange Taxi): The price of this type of transport may vary according to weather, traffic, and vehicle availability.

• Car Rental: El Embarcadero has parking at an additional cost, so you should not worry about where to leave the car.
