Air Transat: Windsor and Fredericton to Cancun, winter 2026–27

The two routes

Windsor–Cancun is a new Air Transat route: one nonstop a week, every Saturday, for the whole winter season. Air Transat already flies from Windsor to Punta Cana; Cancun is its second sun destination from the city.

Fredericton–Cancun flew for part of last winter and comes back with a longer season: one nonstop every Wednesday, from mid-December to the end of April.

Air Transat has announced the days and the season dates. Flight times were not part of the announcement: check them when you book.

Where Canada lands in Cancun today

On 18 and 19 October 2026, the airport's board showed 25 arrivals from Canada, from five cities: Toronto (12), Montreal (7), Calgary (4), Edmonton (1) and Quebec City (1). Windsor and Fredericton join that list in December.

Which terminal

Air Transat uses Terminal 4 at Cancun: all 112 Air Transat flights on the airport's board across 31 days of operation (7,755 flights in total) used it, with no split across terminals. Aeroméxico, Southwest, JetBlue and WestJet operate from Terminal 4 too.

Air Transat's current Cancun flights land at 10:05 (Toronto), 10:35 (Montreal) and 22:05 (Quebec City). The busiest hours to land are from 10:00 to 15:00: the 13:00 hour had 55 arrivals on 18 and 19 October, the 21:00 hour 6.

From Terminal 4 to your hotel

Arriving from Canada you go through immigration and customs before reaching the curb; with a checked bag, allow 45 to 60 minutes between landing and the exit. The hotel zone is 25 to 60 minutes from the terminal depending on where your hotel sits, and longer towards Playa del Carmen and Tulum. Book the transfer for after the landing time, not for the landing time itself.
