New nonstop flights to Cancun for winter 2026–27

Four new nonstops from Canada, all starting in December

The 2026–27 winter season adds four nonstop routes between Canada and Cancun, all of them starting within a week of each other in the middle of December. Two of them serve Calgary, which goes from no nonstop service to two airlines flying it.

Air Canada's Calgary service is operated by a 737 MAX 8 and flies as AC2120 southbound and AC2121 northbound. Flair's three routes also use the 737 MAX 8. Beyond the new routes, both Toronto and Vancouver see more Cancun flying in January and February than they did last winter.

Schedules for a season this far out do move. Treat the dates above as the plan and your airline's confirmation as the answer.

Which terminal each one arrives into

This is the part that is hard to look up, and it is the part that decides where the people meeting you should stand. We measure it ourselves against the airport's own flight board rather than copying a directory, because directories here still list airlines that stopped flying years ago.

In our most recent sample of 2,294 flights, Air Canada operated entirely from Terminal 3 — 46 flights, with no split across terminals. Terminal 3 is where most flights from the United States and Canada land.

Flair does not appear in our sample at all, and that is expected rather than a gap: our measurement window is in August and Flair's Cancun flying is a winter season. We will publish its terminal once the flights are operating and we can measure them, not before.

Airlines do move between terminals. What is printed on your boarding pass on the day always wins over any list, including ours.

What it means for your arrival day

A mid-December arrival lands in the busiest stretch of the year at this airport. Two things follow from that, and neither is a surprise if you plan for them.

The first is the walk out. Landing to standing on the curb runs about 35 to 50 minutes on a quiet day and 70 to 100 in peak season, because immigration, baggage and customs all sit between the aircraft door and the exit. Anyone meeting you at the published landing time will be waiting about an hour.

The second is the drive. Calgary, Edmonton and Montreal all arrive in the afternoon, which is when the road to the Hotel Zone and to the Riviera Maya carries the most traffic. The distance does not change; the time it takes does.
